Enrique Metinides...

...is a Mexican photographer, responsible for the photo I posted yesterday of the dead woman who had been hit by a car, and many other photos like it. He has worked for various Mexican 'sensationalist tabloids' like Alarma! and has had his photographs of the dead and dying displayed in galleries all over the world.

Papers like Alarma! amaze me. Every week they publish a paper full of photos that you and I, or actually maybe just you, would look at once and then never want to see again. Why does Mexico have a market for this?

As much as I dislike Vice and anything related to it, this little doco on Alarma! on VBS.tv actually looks pretty great. Check it.
