I'd be surprised if you hadn't yet heard about Letterman's latest 'scandal'.
If you haven't, in a nutshell, he was fucking some of the female staff from his show, some fuck-stick producer from CBS named Robert Halderman found out and tried to blackmail him to the tune of $2mil, instead, Letterman set a trap, caught the filthy prick, had him arrested, and then confessed to the whole thing on his show.
Now, perhaps his actions aren't the qualities of a truly great human being, but the way he has dealt with the situation is champagne Letterman. Style, humility, and sincerity.
Two million dollars is no small amount of money, but I don't imagine that he would miss it, and it could have been very easy for him to pay that scumbag and have it all disappear. Instead, he confesses to his wife, and then the world, and does it excellently, and not without a touch of the trademark Letterman humor.
What a guy.
